Rhinoplasty is performed in two different ways, open and closed. The main difference between these two methods is the areas where the incisions are located. In the open technique, incisions are made between the tip of the nose and the lip (called columella). In the closed technique, the incisions are made in the nostrils, but the columella is not cut.
